Wow, where did the time go? It's hard to believe this is the last week of the schoolyear- and what a busy one it's been! As you probably know, Christabel and I will be relinquishing our duties from September and will hopefully appoint a new Chair and Secretary at 2010's Annual General Meeting. In the meantime, if you would like any further information do not hesitate to comment on the blog and you will get a reply shortly. Many thanks to everyone who helped out with all the Friends events- your hard work and time are very much appreciated. I hope to see many of you and lots of new faces at the next AGM.Goodbye for now and have a wonderful summer!

SUMMER FETE & UPCOMING DATES

We have several events coming up- the blackbirds cake bake is this Friday 7th May so be sure to buy a plate or two after school! Our Bag2School collection is Friday 14th May so start clearing out those closets to help us raise vital funds for the school. We've also got a Mufti Day on Friday 21st May and class reps will be collecting bottles or £1 donations to go toward the bottle tombola at the Fete. Details will of course follow. Letters have just gone out in bookbags about how you can help out at the Fete and we could use all the help on offer so please let us know if you are able to help in any way. The sign up sheet will be going up next week so look out for that and be sure and put your name down to work for an hour on a stall please!

What a fantastic response!

We were absolutely inundated with all sorts of delicious goodies for our Hospice cake bake and raised an astouding £153!! With Barnsbury a total of £272 was raised and Woking Hospice will no doubt be over the moon and will surely put the funds to very good use. A HUGE thanks to all the parents and carers who brought treats in to be sold and to those who purchased!

CAKE BAKE FRIDAY

Don't forget our cake bake this Friday in aid of Woking Hospice. Please bring in cake(s) Friday morning to be sold after school. Don't forget to buy a plate (or two!) of your own!

Exciting Upcoming Events

As per the Friends Update going out soon in book bags, we've got many exciting upcoming events, the first of which is our school-wide cake bake in aid of Woking Hospice on FRIDAY 12th FEBRUARY. We are holding this together with Barnsbury School who will have theirs on Wednesday 10th February. This is a great way for Kingfield to show our support for the larger community so please bring cakes in for us to sell and be sure to buy a plate (or two!) of your own after school. We've also got our Sport Relief Dance-a-thon on FRIDAY 19th MARCH, details of which will follow but again, 100% of proceeds will be donated to Sport Relief.

Our next meeting will be the week of 22nd February so be on the lookout for notices and please remember to check your child's book bag daily. We will be having an evening meeting the first week of March for those who aren't able to attend morning meetings. We hope to see many new faces!
