What a Success!

What a great, fun day the Christmas Fayre was! Everything went smoothly and we received some very positive feedback...and raised a lot of money for the school! While the exact total still needs to be figured, we estimated takings of around £2,300 so a job very well done. It was fantastic to have that extra hour this year and the stallholders in the hall were a wonderful attraction. Thank you very, very much to everyone who helped with the Fayre in any way. There will be a Friends meeting sometime soon, this week or next, to discuss the Fayre and upcoming fundraising activities so please do join us and share your input.

Wednesday 18 November 2009

Ok parents and carers, it's officially crunch time! The Fayre is less than 2 weeks away and we still have some vacancies on the stall helper list so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sign up to do an hour!! We'll be sorting through bric-a-brac and labelling bottles on Thursday from 3pm and on Friday we'll be setting up from 1pm in the hall so again please help out for any length of time you can. We're all volunteers but if there aren't enough of us great days like the Fayre can't happen. Thank you all for your support and help.

CHRISTMAS MEETING

The Friends Christmas meeting was last Thursday and went very well. A lot was decided on for the Christmas Fayre and if you would like a copy of the minutes from the meeting please email me. We still need help with setting up on Friday 27th November afternoon and the Saturday morning plus clean up after the Fayre. The Fayre will run for 3 hours this year, 12-3, and we hope to make it a really fun, exciting event for children and parents. We've got a lot of 'outside' stallholders this year, from homemade jewellery to personalized chocolates and Usborne books. We think these will be very successful and huge attractions. And speaking of attractions we also have an old-fashioned carousel this year which the children will love. We'll be offering photos of your child(ren) with Father Christmas in addition to some really fun crafts for the children to make. Please remember, we rely on parent, carer and teacher support to make the Fayre possible and if you are able to help in any way for any amount of time please get in touch.

Also, a reminder that the Friends Annual General Meeting will be Thursday 8th October at 9 & 2pm in the dining hall.

July Newsletter

How quickly this year has gone by! Firstly, a huge thank you to all the Friends who have helped out in any way, and to Perry who always lends a helping hand. It is all very much appreciated. Secondly, we must now bid a fond farewell to Mrs Pilatowicz who will be very missed. We wish her a relaxing and enjoyable retirement; best wishes also to all the Year 2 leavers. We must also say a big thank you to Friends officers Brandy, Di and Lucie who are leaving at the end of term. Your new Friends representatives are Treasurer Karina Paustian-Arleth, Secretary Christabel Holmes and Chair Heather Curtis.

This year’s summer fete was a success despite the rain and £1,000 was raised. The jumble sale was also successful and raised over £45. Upcoming events include a ‘Welcome Back’ picnic in early September, cake bakes, sales and of course the Christmas Fayre.

Remember, you can help as little or as much as you’d like so please do get involved! Best wishes for a relaxing, enjoyable summer. We hope to see many of you at our next meeting in September. Don't forget to subscribe to the blog to keep updated on goings on.
